Hi Quentin,
回覆刪除The definition of "make the best of" in my dictionary, listed as below, is different from yours. Would you please tell me which usage is better? Thanks!
make the best of = to do as well as one can with a thing or situation that is unsatisfactory
make the best of a bad job = to accept, esp. in a cheerful way, bad or unsatisfactory conditions and do the best one can in the situation
Hi Aileen,
回覆刪除Thanks for leaving a comment. I think the definitions you give are the same, aren't they? The key point in your definitions is 'unsatisfactory' and trying to be positive and cheerful about a negative situation.
Hope this helps!
Q
I got it! Thanks!
