I have been swimming a lot recently in this nice weather we had this week. I swim indoors in the winter, and outdoors in the summer. The pool I use regularly is the lido at 青年公園. I love this lido because it's one of the few pools in Taipei city that is 50 meters. Most of the pools in the city are only 25 meters, and that's too short for me. Also, the outdoor pool is really really deep, which I love.
Here is the indoor pool there:
You can see, there are very few people in the water. That's because in the winter it's a bit nippy! I swim three or four times a week, 1.7 kms each time. It takes me roughly 30 mins. I used to be faster, with 2 kms in under 30 mins, but I am getting older now and a bit slower. Oh dear!
Here I am in my goggles and swimming cap:
Don't you think I look like an alien:
Taiwan is the only country I have been to where you have to wear a swimming cap in the pool. I have never understood why. Any one know why?
Anyway, if you see me at the pool, say hi!
Vocabulary:
lido = water park, a place with pools, steam rooms, water slides etc
goggles = glasses for wearing underwater to protect your eyes
be a bit nippy = be cold

i don't like swimming cap neither
回覆刪除looks weird.
somebody say that the hair from our body may block up the filter, but in my opinion, cleaners are too lazy to clean the filter.
回覆刪除yeah, I heard that too, but if it's true then why don't pool filters in other countries get blocked up?
回覆刪除I think you might be right about the pool cleaners being too lazy. Although, I have to say, the water at 青年公園 is always really really clean.
