My favourite TV show at the moment is The Good Wife. It's about a politician's wife who is also a lawyer. The show has two main stories. The first one is about politics. The husband is the former State's Attorney (this is like a government prosecutor) who is trying to get his job back. The second story is about the wife's job as a lawyer. She works for a Chicago law firm, and she is in love with her boss. Each episode focusses on one court case, so if you like court room drama, you will enjoy this.Another reason I like it so much is that the lead actress, Julianna Margulies, is my former classmate! We went to school together when we were kids. She is American, but she was educated in the UK. Watching her is strange because it reminds me of my childhood.
Vocabulary:
- 3rd year associate = middle level position in a law company
- firm = company
