people/person
I know many of you are confused about these two words, so let me try to explain them to you.
There are two kinds of nouns: regular and irregular. Regular nouns add 's' for the plural:
chair - chairs
table - tables
cat - cats
Irregular nouns do not add 's' for the plural, but they have another word for the plural. The most common irregular nouns are all about people:
man - men
woman - women
child - children
person - people
'Person' can be regular - 'persons'; and irregular- 'people'. However, 'people' is more common. 'Persons' is used in formal impersonal announcements. You should always use 'people' when you are talking.
