My Life

I am back in Taiwan now. My trip was wonderful. I really like Vietnam. The people are very friendly and helpful and charming. The food was so delicious! I got a bit fatter from all the cocoanut icecream :( Here are some pictures. This one is the hotel at Mui Ne where I stayed for a week on the beach:

One of the best beaches I have ever been to. Pure white sand, totally clean, and big waves in the afternoon:

Then, I went to Saigon, which is a lovely city: huge, vibrant, full of life and colour, and absolutely crazy traffic! Here is a picture of the river from the top of my hotel:

and this is the cathedral in the centre of the city, built by the French ion the 1870s with materials imported all the way from France. Unfortunately it was closed when I visited, so I was not able to go inside. However, from the outside, the building is impressive enough.

and, here I am having afternoon tea in the Majestic Hotel, one of the oldest and most famous hotels in Saigon, dating from the 1920s. The hotel has appeared in many movies about the Vietnam War. Actually, the afternoon tea was not very good and overpriced, but the lobby was lovely.

So, a wonderful trip, and I hope to go back to Vietnam to explore more. It's good to be home, but what is going on with the weather in Taipei?
