哈囉,歡迎來到我的部落格!許多學生問我是否有臉書。答案是我沒有,而且我也不喜歡Facebook!所以我製作了這個網站,要與大家分享我的興趣,以及我在台灣的生活。在這裡,我還會討論歌曲音樂、電影、字彙、文法、英文常犯錯誤與學習英語的小竅門。希望你們不僅覺得這網站很有趣,更能幫助你我,一起來創造一個好用的線上英語互動園地。

Common Error

continually

This word is always used wrongly in Taiwan. Here are some examples:

We continually improve our new products. INCORRECT
We continually invest in new equipment. INCORRECT
I continually do my best. INCORRECT

In fact, this word is almost never used in English. Instead, you should use present continuous verb tense, which has the same meaning as 'continually':

We are improving our new products. CORRECT
We are investing in new equipment. CORRECT
I am doing my best. CORRECT

Or, you can use: 'continue to V', but this is also not very common:

We continue to improve our new products. CORRECT
We continue to invest in new equipment. CORRECT
I continue to do my best. CORRECT

'continually' is usually used when you want to express frustration or anger.

You continually make this mistake! CORRECT
You continually wake me up when I am trying to sleep! CORRECT
