Elizabeth Taylor

Many of you may know Elizabeth Taylor died a few days ago. She was the biggest movie star of her time, and one of the most important people for changing public attitudes towards AIDS. She was a close friend of Michael Jackson, and was famous for her many marriages. She was also a very good actress, in some really great old classic movies.

Here is a tribute to her. Listen and try to hear the following vocabulary.

Vocabulary:

• other worldliness = like coming from another world, something like a dream
• era = historical period of time
• soap opera = a long TV show about the same group of characters, popular with housewives
